This page sets out how AtmosWise guides are researched, written, reviewed, and corrected. It exists so you can judge whether to trust what you read here.
Where topics come from
Topics come from faults and decisions, not from keyword tools. Usually something that turned up on the bench, or a question asked often enough that the existing answers online were clearly inadequate.
If a guide would only repeat what is already well covered elsewhere, we do not write it.
The standard every guide has to meet
- It fully answers its title. The reader should not need to search again.
- It contains real figures: crossover frequencies, channel levels, latency, cable bandwidth, prices, timeframes.
- It includes at least one concrete worked example with a specific system and outcome.
- It says what to do when the fix does not work.
- It states plainly when a repair is not worth attempting.
Sourcing
Where a claim needs support we cite it, preferring manufacturer documentation, Dolby and DTS technical specifications, official HDMI specifications, and peer reviewed material. We do not cite other blogs, forums, or retailer pages as authorities.
Where a figure genuinely varies by setup, we give the range and explain what moves it, rather than inventing a false precision.
What we will not publish
No sponsored placements. No paid guest posts. No link insertions. No specification invented to complete a table. Nobody can pay to be recommended on AtmosWise, and those requests are not answered.
Product mentions
Specific models are named where naming them helps: to show what a class of product looks like, to give a price anchor, or because a particular unit has a known behaviour worth knowing about.
A mention is not an endorsement, and no manufacturer has any input into what appears here. See our affiliate disclosure for how the site is funded.
Review before publication
Every guide is checked before it goes live for factual accuracy against sources, internal consistency with other guides on the site, working links, and clarity for a reader who is not an expert.
Guides touching electrical safety, wall mounting loads, or hearing safety get an extra pass focused specifically on whether the safety guidance is complete and correctly emphasised.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it rather than quietly deleting it. The guide is updated, the modified date changes, and where the correction is material it is noted on the page.
Report an error through the contact page. Corrections are the highest priority message we receive.
Updates
Guides are revised when equipment changes, a model is discontinued, a price moves materially, or a reader points out something we missed. The modified date on each article reflects the last substantive change.
Independence
AtmosWise is independent and is not affiliated with any TV or audio equipment manufacturer or retailer. Editorial decisions are made on merit alone. Advertising, where present, is clearly distinguishable from editorial content and advertisers have no influence over what we write.
