This page explains how AtmosWise makes money, in plain terms, because you deserve to know what the incentives are behind anything you read.
The short version
AtmosWise is supported by advertising and, where relevant, by affiliate links. Neither of these buys a recommendation. Nobody can pay to appear in a guide, and no advertiser or affiliate partner sees an article before it publishes.
Affiliate links
Some links to products may be affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, we may earn a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay is exactly the same. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.
We may participate in affiliate programmes operated by electronics and general retailers. Where a link is an affiliate link it is marked, or the page carries a notice.
Advertising
AtmosWise may display advertising served by third party networks including Google. Those advertisements are chosen by the ad network, not by us, and their presence says nothing about our opinion of the advertiser.
Advertising is always visually distinguishable from editorial content. What data advertising partners collect is covered in our privacy policy and cookie policy.
How this affects what we write
It does not, and here is the concrete evidence rather than a promise:
- Guides regularly tell you not to buy something, or to repair what you have for the price of a part.
- Guides name cheap fixes, including ones with no purchase attached at all.
- Guides say when a repair is not worth doing and the unit is finished, which sells nothing.
- We do not run “best of” lists built backwards from commission rates.
What we refuse
No sponsored posts. No paid reviews. No paid link insertions. No product placement in exchange for free equipment. Those requests are not answered.
